104th Foot, Bengal Fusiliers, brass 25mm, worn 1861-1881

£42.00

A good example of the ORs brass 25mm button and with the backmark SMITH & WRIGHT, BIRMINGHAM.  The 104th Foot, Royal Bengal Fusiliers was one  of the regiments taken into the British Line after the end of the East India Company. The button was worn from 1861 to 1881 when it became the 2nd Bn. Royal Munster Fusiliers, being finally disbanded in 1922. All the numbered buttons 101 to 109 are rather hard to find apart from the 107th. Like the rest of this series the regiment was one of the East India Company’s units formed of European troops.  may28/2
