11th Rajputs, officer’s gilt 26mm button worn from 1903
£16.00
An officer’s gilt 26mm button of the pattern worn by the 11th Rajputs from 1903, having the design of the regimental number XI within a circle with the title RAJPUTS surmounted by Tudor or king’s crown, all within a wreath. The button has the backmark RANKEN & Co. CALCUTTA. The gilt is rather dull but there is only a little rubbing to the design, mainly to the crown. The reverse is sound there is some corrosion. We do not try to clean buttons but the appearance of the back could probably be improved. In 1922 the 11th became a battalion of the large 7th Rajput Regiment. dec14/1
