19th Regt. of Foot, Alexandra Princess of Wales’s Own, North Yorkshire Regiment. A 19mm example of a button from the 19th, later known as The Green Howards. A very good officer’s gilt example with the backmark J. W. REYNOLDS & Co LONDON and just just a little loss of gilt to high points of the design. This pattern was worn from 1855 to 1881 but the maker only used this title until 1870.     mar16/6
