A good example of the ORs brass 17mm button retaining much contemporary gilding. This is the pattern worn by King George’s Own Lancers during WWI and in use from 1910 to 1921 after which the cavalry regiment was amalgamated with the 19th [Fane’s Lancers]. Before 1910 the unit was known as the Tiwana Lancers. may25/2
