1st Bombay Lancers. 19th century field cap of tent style

The dark blue and red field cap with gold detailing and bullion badge of the 1st Bombay Lancers probably dates from around the 1880s. It differs in some details from the example shown on the National Army Museum’s website in having plain cloth covered buttons rather than gilt metal ones and also does not have a central gilt line across the tented top. There is a little old moth damage in places. nov22/1
