1st West Yorkshire, small, domed, silvdr plated 14mm officer’s button
£30.00
The excellent example of an officer’s small, domed 14mm button in silver plate has the backmark FIRMIN. LONDON and is shown in Ripley: Yeomanry Buttons 1830-2000 [2005] shows this button [272], dating it to 1844-1889 when the regiment became the Yorkshire Dragoons. The design shows lettering 1 WEST YORKSHIRE YEOMANRY around a Yorkshire rose. The size and style of this button suggests this example dates from the early part of that period. mar27/2
This is another button from a personal collection which I put together largely in the 1970s and has not been cleaned.
