1st West Yorkshire Yeomanry, 24mm officer’s silver plated button.

This excellent example of an officer’s silver plated 24mm button has the backmark FIRMIN & SONS 153 STRAND LONDON & 13 CONDUIT ST. Ripley: Yeomanry Buttons 1830-2000 [2005] shows this button [273], dating it to before 1889 when the regiment became the Yorkshire Dragoons. The design shows the lettering 1 WEST YORKSHIRE YEOMANRY on a circlet around a Yorkshire rose with a Victorian crown above. mar27/5
