1st West Yorkshire Yeomanry, white metal 24mm tooper’s button.
£14.00
This example of a trooper’s 24mm button in white metal has backmark FIRMIN & SONS LONDON. Ripley: Yeomanry Buttons 1830-2000 [2005] shows this button [273], dating it to before 1889 when the regiment became the Yorkshire Dragoons. This example differs slightly from his illustration in that it has a rim. The design shows the lettering 1 WEST YORKSHIRE YEOMANRY on a circlet around a Yorkshire rose with a Victorian crown above. mar27/4
This is another button from a personal collection which I put together largely in the 1970s and has not been cleaned.
