A very good example of an officer’s dress pouch as worn by the 21st Prince Albert Victor’s Own Cavalry (Frontier Force) (Daly’s Horse) from 1904 to 1921. The silver plated cover has the regimental badge in four pieces [as shown on the waist belt plate Nath: Izzat p.151], This covers the orgiginal red leather box with all gilt brass fittings in unusually good condition. We sell items as we find them so this would clean up well. jun17/1.
Raised at Peshawar in 1849 by Lieutenant Henry Dermot Daly, 1st Bombay Eurpean Fusiliers as the 1st Regt. of Punjab Cavalry it earned its first battle honour, Delhi , in 1857 and was originally formed mainly of Sikh soldiers of the disbanded cavalry of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. In 1947 it became part of the Pakistan Army.
