A good example of the officer’s 18mm gilt button the 29th Lancers (Deccan Horse) of the pattern worn from 1903 to 1922. The button has the backmark JOHN JONES & Co. 8 REGENT ST. LONDON. The regiments origins were in the Hyderabad Contingent and it was later to become part of the 9th Royal Deccan Horse. oct29/1
