A rather creased but interesting 9½ x 8 ins group photograph backed with later card. It shows 9 soldiers of the 3rd Hussars in India with 4 local workers, the central one holding the unit’s name board and the seen to his right seated on a Huntley and Palmers biscuit tin. Although not in fine condition this sort of image is an invaluable glimpse of everyday life in a cavalry regiment, far away from the feathered plumes and shining horses of the parade ground. mar31/1
