An example of the officer’s 17 mm button of the 47th (Lancashire) Regt. of Foot and has the backmark JENNENS & Co. LONDON. The design carries the Napoleonic period battle honour TARIFA for the 1811/12 siege. The button is rather rubbed and has lost most of its original gilt finish. After 1881 the regiment became the 1st Bn. The Loyal Regt. (North Lancashire). jun19/2
