57th [West Middlesex] Regiment of Foot. A quite clean example of the officer’s 25mm button although retaining little of the original gilt. The button has the backmark FIRMIN & SONS LD. LONDON. This is the pattern worn from 1855 to 1881 when the regiment became known as the 1st Bn. The Middlesex Regiment (The Duke of Cambridge’s Own). jan22/1
