The 25mm white metal button of the 5th West York Militia has the title on a garter around a central rose, all within a crowned star. The backmark is FIRMIN & SONS LONDON. The button, worn from 1853 to 1881, shows signs of having been rubbed in service and has been in my private collection since the 1970s and never cleaned. aug31/2
