5th West York Militia, officer’s 24mm silver plated tunic button.

The officer’s 24mm silver plated button of the 5th Wes, York Militia button has the title on a garter around a central rose, all within a crowned star. The backmark is JENNENS & Co. LONDON.  The button, worn from 1853 to 1881, is age tarnished having been in my private collection since the 1970s and never cleaned. A little underlying copper seems to bleedng through on the highest points of the design.
