61st King George’s Own Pioneers. A good heavy grade napkin ring 1916

61st King George’s Own Pioneers. An officer’s mess napkin ring of handsome simple design and of heavy grade metal, fully hallmarked Sheffield 1916 J.D. & S. for James Dixon & Sons. The design has beaded rims and is engraved with the regimental badge with the Prince of Wales’s crest above and the title K.G.O. PIONEERS on a scroll beneath the number 61. The ring weighs 54 gms and is inexcellent condition. It is identified as 3 beneath the hallmarks.  It is good to see that the mess was keeping up standards even during the First World War.   apr21/3
