63rd Foot, West Suffolk Regiment. An officer’s 25mm gilt button worn on the tunic from 1855 until after the 1881 reforms when the regiment became 1st Battalion the Manchester Regiment. The button has the backmark FIRMIN & SONS 153 STRAND LONDON and retians most of the original gilt finish. aug7/1
