6th Duke of Atholl, former lieutenant in the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, 1860s.

A rather faded but early cdv  by I Caldesi & Co at P D Colnaghi Scott & Co., 13 Pall Mall East London of the 6th Duke of Atholl [1814-1864] who served as a lieutenant in the 2nd Royal North British Dragoons [later known as the Royal Scots Greys]. He was commissioned as cornet 21 Nov 1834 and promoted to lieutenant 30 Dec 1837. He succeeded his father as 2nd Lord Glenlyon in 1837 and his uncle as 6th Duke in 1846. By 1842 he no longer appears in the army list.  may 21/4
