7th Dragoon Guards. Large photographic portrait of a Major circa 1920.

£55.00

A very good anmd large portrait showing the major seated half length holding his sword. He wears full dress uniform of the 7th Dragoon Guards and wears the three medals for the First World War with an oak leaf for a mention in despatches on the Victory Medal. The photograph must have been taken in about 1920 for the regiment was then amalgamated with the 4th to form the 4/7fth Dragoon Guards. The portrait measures 11.75 x 9ins and is double mounted on photographer’s card, signed in pencil Bacon, Bond Street. The outer card is rather stained and has curled corners but the photograph itself remains very good. The photographer’s label on the reverse is numbered 10152D.
