A mounted officer of the 7th Queen’s Own Hussars wearing dress uniform with sabretache. The cabinet card is by J. A. Rodger, Broughty Ferry, a photographer based near Dundee. The distinguished regiment recruited very much in Scotland and in 1900 included officers such as H.S.H. Prince Alexander of Teck, Douglas Haig, and the Hon John Beresford [A.D.C. to H.R.H the Duke of Connaught] & the Hon Charles Beresford [Military Secretary to the Government of Bombay]. Winston Churchill had also served in the regiment a little earlier.   aug28/1
