A very handsome example of the 25mm officer’s gilt button of the 82nd (The Prince of Wales’s Volunteers) Regiment of Foot) with the backmark JENNENS & Co. LONDON. The button retains most of the original gilt finish with just a little wear on the highest points of the design. This pattern was worn from 1855 until 1881 when the regiment became the 2nd Bn. The South Lancashire Regiment. sep3/8
