85th (Bucks Volunteers) (King’s Light Infantry) Foot. Officer’s gilt 25mm button

POA

Officer’s 25mm gilt button of the 85th (Bucks Volunteers) (King’s Light Infantry) Foot. This pattern was worn from 1855-1881 after which the regiment became the 2nd Bn. The King’s Shropshire Light Infantry.  The rather sleepy looking button, although not badly worn, would benefit from cleaning and retains a good proportion of the original gilt finish. It has the rather uncommon backmark of WILLIAM JONES &Co. 23 REGENT ST. LONDON. jun8/2  SOLD 7th October 2025
