88th Regt of Foot, the Connaught Rangers, officer’s gilt 25mm

£42.00

An exceptionally fine example of an officer’s gilt 25mm button of the 88th Connaught Rangers Regt. of Foot with the backmark J. W. REYNOLDS & Co. 50 St MARTINS LANE, LONDON. This is the pattern worn pm the officer’s tunic from 1855 to 1881 when the regiment became the 1st Battalion The Connaught Rangers. The Irish button is one of the harder ones to find and the regiment was disbanded in 1922 with most of the other Irish regiments. This example retains the full original gilt finish. jan1/1
