93rd Foot, Sutherland Highlanders. A good 25mm example of an officer’s gilt button with the backmark SHERLOCK & Co. LONDON. This pattern was worn from 1855 to 1881 when the regiment became The 2nd Battalion The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders .The button retains a good amount of the original gilt finish. Like several of the Scottish Buttons it is not easy to find. dec2/2 SOLD 12th March 2024
