94th Foot, cdv sized portrait of an officer wearing his cap.

£8.00

A carte de visite sized portrait of an officer wearing a single miniature campaign medal with the IGS style suspension and one clasp. His cap shows the badge of the 94th  Foot with the numeral beneath the regiment’s characteristic elephant. It was to become the 2nd Bn. Connaught Rangers following the reforms of 1881. The half length portrait, somewhat spotted, came to us attached to an old newspaper cutting relating to reserve forces in Tunbridge Wells, centring around a Major Charles Lutwidge.   aug25/1
