A good if somewhat dull example of the officer’s gilt button of the 95th Foot ( Derbyshire) as worn from 1855 until 1881 when the regiment became the 2nd Bn. The Sherwood Foresters. The 25mm button has the backmark JENNENS & Co. LONDON. The crown on this button differs from the majority of similar buttons in having additional decoration usually associated with a Scottish crown. jul9/2
