An excellent example of the 98th (Prince of Wales’s) Regiment officer’s 25mm gilt button with the backmark JENNENS & Co. LONDON , The button retains virtually the full original gilt finish and uses an unusual pattern of crown which I associate with the Royal Crown of Scotland. After 1881 98th amalgamated with the 68th to form the North Staffordshire Regiment. jun8/1
