A British cavalry officer, mid 19th century
£55.00
An attractive, but unidentified, portrait of a cavalry officer, 6 x 5 ins, probably 1850s or 60s. The seated figure, three quarter length wears a frock coat of the early pattern with a regimental waistcoat. His sword appears to be of heavy cavalry pattern but he has, rather unhelpfully, wrapped his sword knot around it so as to obscure most of the design of the guard. aug25/4
