A portrait taken at Mayo College, Ajmere, probably 1870s/80s

A good carte de visite by J. Craddock, India with a bust length portrait of a young gentleman. The location is identified on the front of the cdv together with a name in a local language. Mayo College at Ajmere in the Rajputana area of India was one of several set up in the British Raj era to educate the sons of the Indian nobility and aristocracy and the sitter is most prbably one of the teachers or instructors.    apr20/2
