A young officer of a Light Infantry regiment photographed in India, early 1860s.

A  good carte de visite by Bourne & Shepherd, Simla showing a young officer of a light infantry regiment. The studio cdv shows him perched on a table, wearing dress uniform, his shako beside him has the drooping light infantry plume, unfortunately obscuring the plate although the white or buff  facings suggest he may be either the 43rd or 52nd.     may10/2
