An Imperial German ring, probably worn by a soldier
£125.00
A simple enamelled ring marked on the inside of the shank 800 . The integral centre of tring is enamelled with two crossing bands of colours, one being black, white, and red [the colours adopted in 1867], the other being black and yellow [formerly the colours of the Holy Roman Empire but later used by Baden Wurttemberg]. Additionally the words GOTT MIT UNS are enamelled on the shoulders and above the colours. The internal diameter is around 21mm and the circle is a little out of true, peobably having been dropped at some time. The ring has a definite masculine feel to it and was most probably worn by a soldier. Although one of the photographs shows the ring in a box this is not sold with the ring and used merely for convenience. jun29/3
