Original red cloth gilt, rather bumped, faded, and worn, with evidence of removal of a label from upper board, but perfectly sound, internally clean, old ownership inscription to half title. An interesting and scarce work from the Russophobic camp. Thorburn, a Punjab administrator, writes about the independent tribes on the borders, Afghanistan, Russian Central Asian expansion, British policy, etc. feb3/2
