A panoramic 9½ x 4½ ins sepia toned photograph of the Angus Rifles at Glamis Castle in 1888 showing the battalion drawn up with its band on the right. The photograph has been pasted to old backing paper but is damaged with small edge tears and chipping. Glamis Castle, at the heart of Angus, has been the seat of the Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and the  Bowes-Lyon family since the  14th century and was the childhood home of the late Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.    feb24/1
