Army Lists bound as a single manageable volume, 7¼ x 4ins, comprising: June 1816 94pp, July 1839 108pp, December 1840 96pp, June 1842 96pp, June 1844 96pp, August 1847 96pp. Contemporary half leather with marbled paper covered boards, leather rubbed with loss of colour but a perfectly sound little volume. The compressed format shows, for instance, 3 regiments of foot to a page. A contemporary ownership signature to the ffep H. D. Mitchell possibly holds the key to the choice of years. The compression is partly achieved by omission of indexes.     feb18/4
