Bombay Light Cavalry, officer’s 15mm silver plated

The 15mm silver plated button of the Bombay Light Cavalry has the design of the regimental monogram in script initials  BLC ona frosted ground within a scalloped reserve. An example in the National Army Museum is attributed to the 3rd Bombay Light Cavalry who had served in distinction in Afghanistan, the Sind, and Persia before remaining loyal throughout the Mutiny, earning the battle honour Central India where they helped restore order. There is a backmark but it is difficult to read. We have had an example by BRADSHAW, WARWICK ST. LONDON.  jan12/2
