Th circular copper coloured badge is 27mm in diameter, a little larger than a £1 coin and around the size of a standard large size military button. It fastens, perhaps to a lapel or a cap, by a pin with brass scrwew on disc to hold it in place. This stylised castle appears on several British and India regimental badges and buttons, often representng the siege of Gibraltar. We have no idea who would have worn this badge but it is quite an attractive item. may27/1
