A brass 22mm button of the Central India Horse of the pattern worn from 1910 to 1922. The button has the backmark C. PITT & Co. 50 ST. MARTINS LANE LONDON and the design of CIH over crossed lances beneath an imperial crown. The shank is rather looxe but sound. This was the premier cavalry regiment of Central India some of whose officers often held important extra-regimental posts, such as the command of the Imperial Cadet Corps. jul4/1
