Delhi, the Iron Pillar near the Qutub Minar

The full plate 11 x 8½ ins unmounted view shows the iron pillar with an ancient dedication to King Chandra before railings were put round it. A European lady and a girl are shown viewing it with an indian attendant to the left. The pillar has long intrigued scientists because its resistance to rust. There is a small fold with smaller tear without loss across the lower lect corner.  This very good, clear, original vintage image dates from about 1910. apr5/5
