£30.00

A good 11 x 7½ ins group portrait of the officers of the 2nd Bn. The Duke of Wellington’s West Riding Regiment titled in the negative KAMPTEE, INDIA 1932. The photograph is in an old window mount and shows the 16 officers in light weight service dress, the front row wearing riding breeches and boots apart from the captain on the left in shorts. Most wear medal ribbons for WWI and the captain on the left standing wears one for the M.C.. Looking at a slightly later Army List 1936 he is possibly F. S. Fraser and other likely sitters, who were with the Bn. based at Nowshera in 1936 are: H.R. Kavanagh MBE, V.C. Green, A.E.H. Sayers, S.B. Kington.    sep5/1
