DUNRAVEN AND MOUNTEARL. Large armorial livery button of the earl.

A large gilt brass 30mm button with the full arms, probably of the Sir Windham Wyndham-Quin, 4th Earl who was born in 1841 and served in the 1st Life Guards, later beingf Honn. Col of the 5th Royal Munster Fusiliers, 3rd County of London Regt. and the Glamorgan Royal Garrison Artillery. Her served in the Abyssinia campaign and the South African War.  The family seat is Dunraven Castle in Glamorganshire. The button,with backmark PITT & Co. 31 MADDOX ST. LONDON  is of the size often worn by coachmen.  feb1/1
