A worn example of the mess waiter’s style button of the EAST INDIA UNITED SERVICE CLUB with the design of the Company’s lion crest within a titled garter beneath a Victorian crown. The backmark is SHERLOCK & Co. COVENT GARDEN LONDON. The shank is present but bent and the face of the button appears to have been varnished at some time. Not the finest example…but an example. jun25/4
