This set of Arnot’s published letters is bound in contemporary maroon full leather gilt, titled on the upper board F. S. ARNOT’S DIARIES 1881-1887 and is in excellent, clean condition, inscribed in ink on the verso of the initial map H. Groves, November 27th 1887 beneath which are the initials AR.. There has been some careful, professional repair to the spine and hinges. The different sizes of two halves of the text means there is a line of soiling on the wider margins of the later letters. The only copies of the different publishings of these letters I have seen for sale are modern reprints and this complete set is rare and could possibly be unique.  may10/1
