George III medal for the 50th Anniversary of the beginning of his reign, 1809

The 48mm diameter white metal medal has a bust of the King in armour surrounded by the lettering GOD SAVE THE KING. The reverse has the date 25 OCTOBER 1809 with a very loyal and patriotic descriptiopn of his reign within a snake [ a symbol of eternity I believe]. This example has been pierced at the top and an old steel ring with faded red ribbon put through it so that it could be hung or perhaps even worn.
