German WW1 printed album of illustrations, unusually with all the German captions translated into English by the original owner the 1919 War Album

Kriegsalbum.  August Scherl [Berlin] [date uncertain but the book deals mainly with the campaign towards France and in the east so possibly around 1916] quarto [12 x 9 ins.]

24pp introductory German text, pp25-183 black & white illustrations with 8 pages of maps and 1 page index. Original decorative boards, some wear and a little staining to boards. Inscrcibed on front pastedown a little unclearly W. D. Gimson Esq. February 1919, bookseller’s ticket lower left of Alfred Bourseaux. Köln. A fairly common book but fascinating to see all the owner’s translation by the pictures. Useful especially to the English speaker with no German. apr22/3
