Gwalior. 7½ x 5½ ins Christmas card of 1926 with a portrait of the late Maharaja, Sir Madhav Rao Scindia, GCSI, GCVO. GBE [1876-1925]. The pink card has a raised, red decorated frame with the royal arm of Gwalior embossed in gold above the monogram of the regent, Gagra Scindia whose facsimile signature appears beneath the greeting. The portrait shows the late maharaja with his infant daughter, Princess Mary, named after the Queen Empress just as his son was named after George V. oct10/2
