GWALIOR. A 7 x 5 ins unmounted photograph from an old album of photographs by Diaz of Bombay, showing H. H. the Maharaja Scindia of Gwalior in a silver mounted elephant howdah with his coat of arms on display. He is alongside another large tusker bearing a British officer in tropical whites with a white helmet, Behind the leading pair are other elephants and drawn up on the left is a large cavalry escort ready to join the rear of the procession, The photograph is in excellent condition with just four marks on the reverse where it has been tipped on to an album page by the corners.   jul21/3  SOLD 20th March 2023
