Harrogate & Knaresborough. Antique Bilston enamel trifle box, late George III period.

£260.00

The oval box, c 45 x 35 mm lid, has a pale salmon pink base. The bottom of the base is somewhat scuffed but not chipped. There is a small area of enamel chipped from the lid where the letter A should be. The lid reads A Trifle from HARROGATE but the image of ruins on the lid is described beneath as Knaresborough Castle. The box has a steel mirror to the lid. Knaresborough is several miles from Harrogate so this box would give the owner a souvenir of two towns for the price of one.   oct18/2
