Hastings interest. Cadets of University School, Hastings. Shooting teams in 1914
£35.00
A group portrait titled in the negative UIVERSITY SCHOOL HASTINGS, A & B SHOOTING TEAMS 1914 . The 9½ x 7½ ins. photograph is in good condition but the 16 x 12 ins. photographer’s card has a tear top left and some damage at the corners. It does, however, identify the local studio as J. H. Blomfield, 44, ROBERTSON STREET, HASTINGS. I cannot be quite certain of the cap badge but it seems to be Royal Engineers, although the officer standing left, holding his binoculars, wears a sword which seems to be Royal Artllery. apr13/3
University School, Hastings was rather short lived, opened in 1874, serving as a hospital during WW1, reopening in 1923 but its building was demolished inthe 1930s.
