King’s Own Scottish Borderers. A three quarter length cabinet card portrait of a corporal of the KOSB wearing medals for the Egypt campaign, photographed in India. In 1886 the regiment was stationed at Meerut, The card, by G. W. LAWRIE & Co, NAINI TAL, LUCKNOW & MUSSOORIE, INDIA is a little creased and grubby along the lower border. The sitter can be identified from the contemporary inscription on the verso To Miss J Taylor from your loving bother William.  may20/1
