LEES-MILNE. An armorial bookplate of the Lancashire family of Crompton Hall

LEES-MILNE.  A full armorial bookplate with the arms of the Lees=Milne family of Lancashire cotton producers, mid 19th century. The 120 x 83 mm bookplate, in fime condition, remails on an old marbled paper covered book board, 1900 x 1250 mm. This [came from a book dated around 1860. The late author and scholar who produced a multi volume autobiography, James Lees-Milne [1908-1997] was a member of a branch of the family. feb10/13
